This is BAD

I don't know if I've ever been as desperate as I am right now.  I think my kiln just died and I'm crying so hard I can barely type.  Selling my lampwork has been my grocery money and with Joe out of work I'm running out of options fast.  Getting a new kiln is out of the question financially.  Please, God, let it be a power blip or something....

  1. Joe's got it working for now. Seems there was a loose wire. Wow, this had me scared...

  3. Right now I'm afraid to breathe at all. The fix is temporary and the part is on order. If you read this, please note. UNPLUG THE KILN BEFORE YOU WORK ON IT! I thought because the kiln was plugged into a 110 outlet that was what it ran on, but apparently it has something in it that increases the voltage to 220. Per Joe, THIS MIGHT KILL YOU. If it is unplugged you're OK. BTW, if you get a tCL error message on your Jenn-Ken kiln, it's the thermocouple that's gone south. A lousy $15 part and a major headache!

  4. Oh, yeah! Thank you. Things are tough for everyone right now and I'm in that boat too. What amazes me is the outpouring of support I've received and I'm truly grateful for it. People are good. I can't hope to repay the kindness I've received except by helping others and this is something I can find a way to do.
